OUR HISTORY...

Volleyball begins its journey in the City of Alcalá de Henares around 1975, with a team made up of university students from the ULAH (Labor University of Alcalá de Henares) Almost all of them are Telecommunications Engineering students.

Five years later, the season 1979-1980, the Higher Sports Council and creates all over Spain CITD (Center for Technical Sports Initiation) with the sport of volleyball among its disciplines. In all of them, a total of 40 athletes are selected through demanding physical tests (One of those selected in Madrid is the great player Rafa Pascual). During the first 2 years they will practice all kinds of sports and already in the third year they will choose a sport to compete, it is from here that volleyball begins to be really known in our city.

In 1982 the CDM IPLACEA , in order to facilitate access to the federated competition to those students of the CITD , from Alcalá de Henares, who had been developing their activities for a few years before. At first it had sections of various sports: basketball, handball, cycling, soccer, rhythmic gymnastics, volleyball and judo. These sections became independent as the city's clubs absorbed the players trained in the CITD and in sports schools.

Volleyball competes as a section of the CDM IPLACEA until the season 1986-1987 . It is in season 1987-1988 when the CV SALESIANS ATOCHA ALCALÁ that the 1989-90 season changes its name to CD IPLACEA DON BOSCO ALCALÁ . After a few years of walking with that denomination, in the season 1990-1991 the VOLLEYBALL CLUB ALCALÁ , in order to promote and practice the sport of volleyball among its associates.
